Eliminating picking, packing and labeling errors benefits your customer and your business in a multitude of ways all of which ultimately add to your bottom line. Resolving shipping errors often requires multiple communications with the customer, costly re-shipment and attention from multiple employees. Every error presents an opportunity for additional errors during the resolution process.
UPC Barcode scan and pack verification allows you to bypass the shipping error woes altogether. By scanning the UPC barcode on each item as it's packed your packers can move quickly and confidently, assured that the items they're packing are correct. Multiple instances of an item will never cause issues with Scan and Pack verification checking each off as you go. GroovePacker seamlessly integrates barcode scanning verification with ShipWorks, giving your shipping system the ability to catch packing errors before they're shipped and before any cost has been introduced.
In addition to user friendly barcode scan and pack verification GroovePacker augments ShipWorks inventory, giving your warehouse real time, physical inventory tracking. Item counts are updated as orders are packed, giving you an unprecedented level of inventory visibility with no extra work. Together ShipWorks and GroovePacker give your business a cost effective warehouse management solution and all the competitive advantages that go along with it. Scan and Pack Workflow with GroovePacker
There's no reason to change how you currently print your shipping labels. GroovePacker can work with ShipWorks to accommodate a variety of workflows.
Your workflow will depend on when in the process shipping labels are printed. ShipWorks allows you to print your order number on each packing slip as a barcode. GroovePacker can then read a scan of the order number to display the order and items to be packed. This allows your packers to split orders up, print in batches and scan them in any order they like. In this batch workflow all printing is best done from within ShipWorks. It's also possible to incorporate a digital scale and ship by exact weight. In this scenario you'll print shipping labels individually after packing and weighing the packed shipments for exact package weights. If you prefer you can also print packing slips and pick lists from directly from GroovePacker.

Once your shipping labels, packing lists and pick list is printed your packer or dedicated picker can begin picking all the items required to pack that batch of orders. Often a cart is used to gather all items. By sorting your pick list by location you can eliminate backtracking during the picking process.
After the items have been picked and your packers are ready to begin packing orders, they'll just scan the order number from any packing slip and GroovePacker will suggest the first item to be scanned and packed. When the correct product is scanned the packer will get confirmation and will be prompted for the next item. The process continues until all items have been scanned and packed.
Once scanning and packing is complete the status for the order is updated and inventory counts are adjusted. A record of each item scanned and the packer who scanned it is saved in GroovePacker, ready to be called up with the scan of an order number. Because GroovePacker scans items into and out of your warehouse you have true item-level visibility of your physical inventory. Because GroovePacker is cloud based, substitutions, cancellations or other exceptions can be made from any location allowing customer service assistance by VA's and remote employees.
Each inventory change is made automatically as items are shipped and received, giving you an inventory count you can depend on. You can be setup and scanning error free orders in a few hours. Click Here to choose a plan that fits your needs.
