There's no reason to retrain staff and change how you currently print your shipping labels. GroovePacker can pull orders directly from Shopify or work alongside any of the popular shipping software applications like ShippingEasy, Shipstation, ShipWorks and others. Products can be synced from Shopify to GroovePacker with the click of a button and new products that are fully set up in Shopify will be automatically created in GroovePacker as orders are imported that contain the new products.
The workflow will vary slightly depending on where and when you print. For those that already import orders from various sources into an order manager like ShipWorks, it's recommended import all order from the order manager into GroovePacker. If your shipping software gives you the option of printing your order number on your packing slip as a barcode, GroovePacker will use a scan of the order number to display the order to be packed. You may choose to print shipping labels along with your packing slips and pick lists before packing orders. Some fulfillment operations incorporate a digital scale and ship by exact weight. In that workflow you'll print shipping labels individually after packing and weighing your packed shipments for exact package weights. This is a common workflow and GroovePacker allows you to optionaly record the tracking number by scanning the shipping label after it's generated. This provides a confirmation that every order packed was processed.

To pack an order simply scan the order number on your packing slip and GroovePacker will suggest the first item to be packed. When the correct product is scanned the packer will get confirmation and will be prompted for the next item. The process continues until all items in that order have been scanned and packed. In cases where shipping labels are created prior to packing, and orders have been imported to GroovePacker with tracking information, an optional scan of the shipping label can be requested after packing to verify that the correct label is being applied to the shipment.
Once scanning and packing is complete the status for the order is updated and inventory is adjusted. A record of each item scanned and the packer who scanned it is saved in GroovePacker and easy to retrieve with the scan of an order number. Because GroovePacker scans items into and out of your warehouse you have true item level, real time visibility of your physical inventory. Substitutions, cancellations or other exceptions are recorded and accounted for giving you an inventory count you can count on.
