GROOVEPACKER MAKES IT EASY TO ADD UPC BARCODE SCAN AND VERIFY TO YOUR CURRENT WEB.COM WORKFLOW.
Web.com includes a cutting edge cloud based order management and inventory solution (previously Ecomdash). GroovePacker works alongside this system, giving your warehouse staff the tools they need to pack every order without error and verify that physical inventory levels match what is expected. Because of its location in your workflow, it lends itself well to being a double-check. Inventory can be scanned or imported as it’s received and then removed from inventory as each order is packed. Last-minute substitutions and adjustments are always accounted for.
Eliminating errors before they ship holds so many benefits for your business and your customers. Resolution of a single shipping error often requires multiple communications with the customer, costly re-shipment, and attention from multiple employees. Every error can lead to others during the resolution process.
UPC / Barcode scan and pack verification allow you to bypass the shipping error woes altogether. By scanning a barcode on each item as it’s packed your packers can move quickly and confidently, assured that the items they’re packing are correct. Multiple instances of an item will never cause issues with packing verification counting each item as you go. As your order volume grows, so do the benefits of avoiding shipping errors. There’s no doubt about it, when it comes to receiving exactly what they order, your customers expect perfection every time. With GroovePacker you can deliver.
WHAT’S NEEDED TO BEGIN USING GROOVEPACKER WITH WEB.COM?
The first step is to import your product data into GroovePacker. Web.com has a product export that will allow you to export your data to a CSV file. The only required fields in GroovePacker are the Product Name, SKU and Barcode but it’s also possible to import bin locations, inventory counts, weight, and product images.
If you have multiple SKUs that reference the same physical product they can be aliased at this point so inventory is correctly tracked. Lastly, if you use kits or bundles they can now be setup in GroovePacker or imported via CSV.
With products ready to go and the proper configuration in Web.com you can now import your daily orders for packing verification with just a click.
SCAN AND PACK WORKFLOW WITH WEB.COM & GROOVEPACKER
There’s no reason to change how you currently print your shipping labels. GroovePacker can work with Web.com to accommodate a variety of workflows.
Your workflow will depend on when in your process shipping labels are printed, before or after packing. Once orders have been imported into GroovePacker you simply enter the order number of any order you’d like to pack. Web.com will provide an option to print your order number on each packing slip as a barcode. GroovePacker can then read a scan of the order number to display the order and items to be packed. This means your packers can divide orders into multiple batches and scan them in any order they like. It’s also possible to incorporate a digital scale and ship by exact weight. In this scenario, you’ll print shipping labels individually after packing and weighing the packed shipments for exact package weights.
After printing your packer or dedicated picker can begin picking all the items required to pack that batch of orders. Often a cart is used to gather all items. After the items have been picked and your packers are ready to begin packing orders, they’ll just scan the order number from any packing slip and GroovePacker will suggest the first item to be scanned and packed. When the correct product is scanned the packer will get confirmation and will be prompted for the next item. The process continues until all items have been scanned and packed.
Once scanning and packing is complete the status of the order is updated and inventory counts are adjusted. A record of each item scanned and the packer who scanned it is saved in GroovePacker, ready to be called up with the scan of an order number. Because GroovePacker scans items into and out of your warehouse you have true item-level visibility of your physical inventory. Because GroovePacker is cloud-based, substitutions, cancellations or other exceptions can be made from any location allowing customer service assistance by VA’s and remote employees.
Each inventory change is made automatically as items are shipped and received, giving you an inventory count you can depend on. You can get set up and scan error-free orders in as little as few hours. Click Here to choose a plan that fits your needs.
